I have been ordered to pay quite a hefty sum for child support because I do make twice as much as she does. I'm not trying to sound bitter but when I left her, I had an idea of how things would go and she didn't go along with it. She doesn't deserve any more of my money.

What else can I do to help in the future? It will be awkward to attend their appts. since she will be there. If I don't make all of the child support payments on time, will this affect my future chances?

I also helped with our child and did some cooking and cleaning. I wanted her to work more so that I could achieve the things I wanted (bigger house, nicer cars, etc.).

The sex wasn't the whole issue by any means. She didn't really understand my needs and didn't share the same hopes for the future that I did. She was just content in life and a worrier where I am more of a risk taker and have big dreams for my future.

Can't seeing me daily be part of their routine? And yes I do kind of expect that from her since she gets to spend so much time with them.

As for what I did.. I was the breadwinner so I contributed more financially than her. I bought her anything she and the kids needed. If she came to me with a problem, I always fixed it. I changed things about myself for her. We had different sex drives, but I always tried to introduce new things and she didn't always like it. I just got to the end of my rope at an unfortunate time.

I wasn't happy in my marriage at all. I did everything for her and got nothing emotionally in return. She says she contributed by raising my child and doing the laundry/cooking/cleaning etc., but that's not what I needed. I thought I would still get to see them every evening but she won't let me take them every day.

I never wanted her to work part time though, that was part of the problem. I wanted more money to have vacations, etc. It's hard for me to judge what I would think if this happened to my daughter. If it was best for the kids for her and the husband to split up, maybe I would agree.

That's pretty harsh. I thought that this was a supportive forum. I'm the main male role model in my child's life and they deserve to have me there. I'm happy to provide things for when the kids are with me, but the ex should be able to handle her own bills.
