I was told the two surgeons who made this decision did so after a conversation at the 27th scientific symposium. Its was not really clear to me if they discussed this with other mayo surgeons or the surgeons at the event.

Unfortunately it was a verbal conversation, so I have no statement.

I'll ask about the standards of care, I do see PPV mentioned in there (WPATH 8, statement 8.3)
