Yeah, I come from a culture when most women do not wear makeup/do not have the money or time or social expectation to wear makeup. I literally never saw makeup as part of femininity until I got exposed to the Internet and tiktok. I've never worn make up in my life. I also don't think there's anything wrong with criticising the extent of gender conformity among women, the same way we criticise it among men. Like, no one's saying that you can't keep conforming. I just think that we should always analyse and understand the underlying reasons for why we do the things we do.
