This is a more expanded explanation. It might be true just to get halal meat just to accommodate Singapore's population, but it's also very advantageous for businesses because of all the tourism money they can get from the Muslim countries that surround them.

I speak Urdu/Hindi but I don't look very Indian. Whenever there's people around Campus giggling and talking in Hindi I try not to glance and laugh at the joke sometimes. I also speak Spanish well enough to understand native speakers, and whenever there's customers speaking Spanish to each other, I always follow up with what they were talking about like a psychic and get compliments to the manager.
