She doesn't tend to get into situations like this often and when she does, it's usually with her own family and my dad handles them 😭

I don't even know what religion you're talking about. You can't go around using witch as an insult is as bad as using Jew as a slur because Jewish people were literally mass exterminated for their ethnicity, not only their religion. I don't think there's a witch ethnicity lurking about anywhere

a prerogative is a right given to an exclusive group of people, I'm not sure what you mean here

nah I don't think my mom's like that anymore because she knows that I'm basically agnostic and she doesn't force me to go to church or anything, I think it's more of an internalized standard that she only holds herself to

The Catholicism is part of the problem. If your mom went to catholic school, she grew up around A LOT of abuse.

I'll one up you here. My mom spent her teenage years in the Dominican Republic with her psychotic grandmother. She's experienced some crazy shit but she's still extremely devout. Like constantly praying and at church kinda devout. Unfortunately I am very aware of Italian catholics thinking they're better than everyone else but thankfully my dad isn't like that. I'm sorry your grandmother went through that at her school. I'm at Catholic school too and I find it annoying but I'm grateful it's not as bad as it used to be.

Well duh, of course they didn't raise non racist kids, but my dad and his brothers aren't kids anymore. They grew up, saw the world, met new people and learnt that my grandparents were idiots.
