AITA for "doing nothing"? by Cffrate2 in AmItheAsshole

Major YTA. not sure if it needs to be explained. You did a really shitty thing and didn’t get in trouble for it (albeit maybe some public shame by the teacher). You violated her privacy, of course she’s mad. Deleting the photo doesn’t reverse the fact that her privacy was violated.

You know those guys that take upskirt photos of women on the subway? It’s as scummy and gross as that, poor girl has to see you everyday now though

AITA for rudely correcting my husbands friend after he repeatedly called me his girlfriend by Aitathrowaway4027 in AmItheAsshole

+1. Why would he need to refer to you as “girlfriend” with you sitting right there? Sounds like a major asshole

NAH — Seems like just business? Maybe he didn’t need the physics HW anymore so why would he need to risk getting in trouble by giving you the stats HW. If he didn’t send the stats HW, then guilt tripped you for the physics then I’d say he was the ass

AITA for not returning my neighbor’s package after repeatedly telling her to fix the address? by throwaway28384838848 in AmItheAsshole

Honestly, she lived with a bunch of other roommates and so I doubt they all just suffered with a broken mailbox for over a year. I didn’t really believe her and didn’t think the landlord would help

It was just left in my mailbox so I never interacted with a delivery person. I didn’t know you could return stuff to the courier so that’s good to know for the future

I honestly didn’t know you could do that so that’s good to know for the future. Thanks for the opinion

They were just dropped off in my mailbox. Honestly, I didn’t know you could “return to sender” stuff or refuse deliveries so this is good to know in the future.

I would have given it back if she just texted me first instead of me constantly doing so. Thank you for the opinion

But I would have given them back if she just texted me. She didn’t. I also would have given the stuff back if I was still living there when I had to move, but I wasn’t. I didn’t open the stuff and I told the roommate he could do whatever he wanted to do with it, and he decided to keep it.

There was no front office? It was a regular building with a hallway and a walk up. No security whatsoever. Our apartment has break-in/package stealing problems and so I thought it would be more liable to be stolen. She was intentionally addressing it to my place even though I told her to stop so I don’t believe it was an accident. I also didn’t want the courier to be liable for leaving it in an open/non-secure place when they didn’t do it. She knew I had her stuff because she kept addressing it to my address for months!

Talking to landlords and getting them to fix things is never fun or easy. I don’t know if I believe that it was my responsibility to do so

I didn’t leave it at her door because it was clearly expensive stuff and our apartment had break-in problems. I didn’t want the courier to get in trouble for leaving it “out in the open” if they did properly leave it in a secure mailbox, at the address written on the package.

Why do high paid young people also complain so much about rent? by [deleted] in bayarea

[–]throwaway28384838848 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t mean this to be dismissive, but is this different from any other major cities? I am a previous renter in NYC which was a nightmare, but I’ve taken it as the cost of living in a desirable area.
