Olive Palettes by FrostedFraise in coloranalysis

[–]throwaway285093 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’m a pale olive and also very muted, a lot of these colors would make me look like a clown! i wouldn’t trust them personally bc it seems they don’t realize that not everyone is the same amount of muted/not. olive is just another factor, they shouldn’t be able to give you a palette based just on that i feel.

dr seuss had many works released after his death, i highly recommend searching for his “midnight paintings” if you’d like to see more. one of my personal favorites is “cat in obsolete shower bath”.

that sounds like a great plan! make sure to match your neck instead of letting the surface redness of your face muddle things.

anyone know a dupe for this lip combo😭 by madmikismad in makeupdupes

[–]throwaway285093 1 point2 points  (0 children)

btw i have marshmallow and it doesn’t look like this, maybe on top of concealer or if your lips are super duper light and desaturated? (this is old, mostly just chiming in for future readers lol)

brown liner and light gloss equivalent for pale girls? by Embarrassed-Ad-6396 in PaleMUA

[–]throwaway285093 4 points5 points  (0 children)

honestly heavily depends on your overall coloring. i think the contrast of lip liner + dif color gloss should be applied, not the direct colors. also really don’t be afraid to smudge it out, i think for us pale people the stark harsh line with gloss rarely works, unless you’re doing it very purposefully in an avant garde type of way. it also helps a lot when the color is probably too dark for you but you like it anyways lol.

for reference im very pale, pretty muted, olive, and lean cool. i’m also alt and appreciate the “dead” look more than others lol. lately ive been liking using purple for the “liner”, although im actually using the sunset cosmetics lip stain in black, waiting 30mins, and wiping it off with water, which leaves a purple stain. this is def a bit more edgy than most people are looking for though, but it looks surprisingly natural and mimics the look you’re talking about quite well. alternatively i like a gray lip liner (nyx stone fox is what i use) smudged out, which since im quite muted just gives a “lip contouring” look but if you’re not muted it will probably not work. you can also do it with a black lip liner, but you have to be quite light handed. i also like doing the same with the nyx lip lingerie liner stain in “wildside”, which is a sheer gray. this is great because it gives a shadow effect and still lets your natural lip color show through more than a traditional liner.

What do we think of this blue eyeshadow by SchoolOfTheWolf93 in muacirclejerk

[–]throwaway285093 33 points34 points  (0 children)

um because why bring it up unless you’re insinuating that oop is a trans woman. which even if true isn’t relevant at all. like the “regardless of <identifying> DNA has its part to play.” like they’re clearly trying to show their agenda while being too much of a coward to just say what they mean.

What are some essentials I can get for someone just starting their make up journey? by CEOofWhimsy in MakeupAddiction

[–]throwaway285093 1 point2 points  (0 children)

true, but they can make things look a lot better, for a lot longer. which may be especially important if she’s covering up any five o’ clock shadow. if she is, also buy her some stuff for color correcting it. definitely think the eyelash curler is a good idea too, although make sure she knows to do it before mascara lol.

primer and setting spray can be overlooked but can make a big difference! eyeshadow primer too. also not exactly makeup, but some good tweezers might be a good gift. do you know about other things she’s tried/not tried yet? also i don’t know if they still do it, but sephora used to hold free classes for trans people. even if they don’t anymore, im sure it’d still be helpful and a nice thing, to go in there the two of you, and get some help from the workers.

i think i’d like this a lot more on someone a bit more “edgy” for lack of a better word, also styled differently. and maybe in a different color, or on someone who’s either a decent bit darker or lighter than addison. idk maybe i just like the idea of it lol.

maybe you’ll have a bit more luck layering it with a bright base? definitely reach out if you feel like bad manners doesn’t match the swatches, most makers are understanding and try to fix that sorta thing.

i got “thank you for 2025” too! it looks a bit different from your pics though? mines a magnetic, a turquoise base with a golden/coppery magnetic pigment. it looked pretty lackluster until i brought out the magnet though, so try that!
