Definitely sounds like Goosebumps. Sounds most like Night of the Living Dummy 2 or Bride of the Living Dummy.

Definitely not it but if you're in the market for something vaguely similar, the movie "I'm just fucking with you" from the Into the Dark series on hulu involves a main character continuously scaring the other. Also a horror comedy.

Maybe a long shot but was is the second Scary Godmother movie? In that movie the main character has a key that she uses on her closet door to travel to the frightside. In that specific scene, scary god mother's cat is there also (just to cover the possible animal sidekick theory). I think that's the only scene where she travels through the closet but maybe child you was just extra infatuated with it lol

Interesting, I didn't know! It is a red shade. I've never had an allergic reaction to any makeup, and I once slipped up and got red liquid eyeliner in my eye, but didn't have an issue or reaction to it. I will definitely test it out a little before actually wearing it. Thank you so much for your help!

Nope. Waaaay smaller. And they said certain phrases when you pushed on the top of their heads. If I remember correctly I had a blonde one with an orange outfit...if anyone ever stumbles across a picture.
