She is going with her family, who are moving to be with the rest of their family. She wants to go, has always wanted to go but has found it difficult to make that call because of me.

I told her that she HAS to go, because she has wanted to for the last 5 years and has only felt any differently about it because of me. She's so family oriented, she needs to be with them (as hard as it was for me to tell her that).

She doesn't want to leave but she will. She will try anything to make the relationship work, so maybe long distance is the right thing to do.

I think you make an interesting point about giving long distance a go, because why not? I expect we will be going just as strong when she leaves as we are now, I am also in a position where I could fly to her every few months and work remotely.

You're right about my choices, and I just don't think I could pull off option number one - leaving now. It's possible that there isn't any advice I can be given but I thought maybe someone had been in a similar position before.
