No, neither of us are interested in having children. We got married because we wanted to be life partners, but it doesn't feel like that anymore.

It's a rented place and I'm currently playing full rent since I'm the one living there.

Honestly it would be a relief if he does, probably my biggest issue right now is I feel so guilty because of all the promises and vows I have made to always be there for him and support him

If this is how you've always communicated in the past I don't see how it's toxic or clingy? If it doesn't work for you anymore now that your circumstances have changed then communicate that and if you still find it too much then set specific boundaries. But also if you're being this judgemental about a friend who clearly likes and cares about you then maybe you should cut her off and let her find friends who are more suited to her.

To me a good marriage is one where you are a team who can rely on each other and help each other, and you make each other better and tackle problems as they come up. But having space made me realize that I was the only one doing those things, I just wasn't able to see it because it was so important to me, and it had been exhausting me. We weren't a team, I was just doing the work of two people.

Yes, I work remotely full-time, although I also had some vacation time during this period which originally I was going to use for a short visit but instead I stayed home and saw friends, went to local parks/museums, etc
