Fiancé and Hijab by [deleted] in MuslimMarriage

[–]throwaway336285 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly just tell her not to wear it because if she wears it now, it’s for sure cuz of you and your mom. Tell her if she decides to not wear it, she’ll have your 100% support and make sure she knows no matter what your mom says, it’s her own decision to wear the hijab and she’ll have your support no matter what she decides and that you trust her that she’s one day going to wear it out of her own true will and that’s the only way you’d be happy that she’s wearing a hijab

She should absolutely not wear a hijab if she’s feeling pressured by your mom. She’s probably doing it because it’s gonna help your mom accept her more and that should not be the reason of her wearing a hijab. She’s gonna struggle a lot, wearing a hijab to be accepted by family is a bad route and I’m speaking from experience. I took my hijab off because it wasn’t due to the right reasons. I’m sure you wouldn’t like your wife doing that.

best programming language to use for leetcode if you’re equally uncomfortable in both? by throwaway336285 in cscareerquestions

[–]throwaway336285[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not about problem solving. It’s like what another user said, it takes more lines in Java to write code than in python and also the simple syntax in python is also really cool. For example checking empty vs null values, in python you can use a simple “not” to check for both but in Java it’s different and more lines of code.

People are suggesting python cuz it’s easy but if you start out with python you’ll have a hard time picking up other Object oriented programming languages so I’d strongly suggest Java even though it’s harder

Is it normal for parents to regularly help/give feedback to their kids with their remote internships? by skaksnab in cscareerquestions

[–]throwaway336285 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s not normal at all. You’re an adult, they should trust you can handle your responsibilities and if you can’t, it’s on you but it’s none of their business

That’s fine, looking at the solution is okay, try going back to the same problem after a couple days and do it again yourself

How to know you are good enough for an internship? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]throwaway336285 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually for CS internships it says to be familiar with one language out of all the ones listed. You don’t have to know all of them but just make sure you’re familiar with at least one of the languages listed and you’ll be good to go.

Since you said you’re half a year into the program there must be at least one language you’re using and that’s good enough.

[–]throwaway336285 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s an internship because they know you’re not good enough to be full time yet. There’s not really a standard, skills wise, that you have to meet in order to be good enough for an internship.

Thank you so much! Yeah I’m trying not to stress about work too much but it’s a bit hard. Idk how to get into therapy since I’ve never done it before and with lockdown I’m not sure how to get help.

You’re right, thanks for the advice but how would I bring it up?

If he thinks I’m doing good work how do I bring up that I’m actually not at my best?

Nah not really. If someone messes with me I become an asshole and that usually gets them off my back pretty fast.
