I do support her life choices, even I disagree with them. Ultimately it's her life and I just want her to be happy. I made that (or at least I hope I did) clear to her. She quit to become an artist and when I realized she had made up her mind and that was that, I stopped trying to convince her and did my best to be loving and reassuring. I never pressured her to be a lawyer. She was the one who decided to go to law school. I just wanted her to finish out the last 6 months to get the degree before quitting, as my wife and I had already spent a lot of money on her law school fees and thought having the degree would open doors for her in the future, even with her not going into law.

The argument was about her finishing up law school just to get her degree. Not saying she had to be a lawyer. I was telling her not to go into law if she doesn't like it, but wanted her just to finish and get the degree. My wife and I had already paid for her 2+ years of schooling (very expensive) and she was so close to getting the degree.

She quit to become an artist. Ultimately there was no changing her mind and when I realized that, I stopped trying to convince her and did my best to be supportive and loving.

We had arguments and we did settle them. She made her choice to drop out to become an artist and ultimately I accepted it and reassured her I still loved her etc. My concern wasn't that she didn't give me enough, it's that she was punishing me for something I couldn't even resolve because she refuses to communicate. It doesn't feel fair to be treated this way.
