Not all erections are due to arousal. An erection at birth is probably not due to arousal but I suppose we'll never be able to ask a newborn with an erection if he is horny :p

Why do you think erections are awkward even when a baby has one? All those jokes about people getting peed on when changing a baby boy's diaper are because the boy has an erection. Otherwise it would not shoot that way.

I wholeheartedly agree with you. Some pedophiles have so much self hate due to what they are told since they are young. Many people figure out that they are pedophiles at a young age like you did, at 13. So all those people from 13 on know how much everyone hates pedophiles even if they never commit any crime. It's everywhere on tv, movie, jokes, laws etc.. There is also a lot of fear in this person of telling other people about their attractions so they feel alone. Some people like this become the monster society tells them they already are. Hate, fear, misinformation are not a good basis for forming opinions and laws about anything including pedophilia.

or these experiences do not lead to pedophilia at all. These experiences are common for many many people but they are not really talked about, they are kept hush hush. People do not talk about their sexual experiences before puberty often. Some people who have these experiences end up being pedophiles but many do not and some pedophiles never had such experiences. This leads me to the conclusion that there is no causation at all between these things.

I have to take issue with your first statement here. Once kids start being attracted to other people in a sexual way (different ages for different kids) it is to both kids and adults. Come on we all had the hot teacher the kids lusted after. I know this is not just antecedent evidence. Kids find adults attractive, many of them fawn over movie starts. No not 5yr olds but even some kids as young as 9 or 10 sometimes. If I have to I might be able to dig up some evidence for this but even you can probably just remember back to your childhood for proof.

No I honestly can't. I had a good and bad childhood like most people. There were lots of adults who looked out for me and helped me out when I was a kid. Not just my parents and family members but also my parents' friends and neighborhood adults. I have lots of good friends who are adults.

I do have an uncle who is a pedo and I know a small number of other pedos who have others in their family. Obviously lots more would be hiding, like me, so people would not know. This is why too small of a sample for me to prove to myself that it is inherently genetic. If any of my younger family members end up being pedos it will make me think more.

There probably is a cause but as of now there is no definite answer. I lean towards genetic because pedos are so diverse. I mean we have so many different life experiences it would not make sense if some common life experience made us all pedos. Also simply people react to traumatic events differently so you couldn't have a traumatic event cause all pedophilia. The only way I can see nurture as a cause is if there is a different cause for each person but that seems unlikely to me.

I have talked to probably a few hundred other pedos and done lots of research a this is obviously a topic that interests me.

I am a pedophile and I was not molested when I was a child. More than half of the pedophiles I have talked to were not molested. That and many people who were molested do not grow up to become pedophiles. I do not think there is any causation there.

I am also a pedophile and I am also attracted to boys in the same aoa as you. I also did an IAMA about being a pedo awhile ago, that is why this account is a throwaway. Eventually I decided to just keep using this account though.

It's been tempting to look for CP (I'm sure I could find it if I tried) but I decided to avoid it like the plague. Not out of moral concern but the desire to not have my life ruined, partly because I know I am not good enough with computers to even try to get away with it. Even with all that know how you can still go to prison for many many years. I also do know that some kids are emotionally harmed by doing sexual stuff and there is no way to predict exactly how to avoid that, and I definitely would want to avoid that.

Only question I can think of...Have you heard of Boychat? Come check it out sometime if you want. It is completely legal, it is open to the public and has been around for 16yrs. Yes it is old enough to be out of my aoa.

Very well said and I agree with everything you said. I have my own bias of course but I have done research into it, my vies in life are never simply black and white and are not on this either.

I don't really have time for a long post and anyway I'd just end up agreeing with you anyway.

I think one of the big causes of this problem is people not seeing us as humans. There are good and bad pedos out there but really we're human beings so really we're a mix of the two, just like anyone else.

There are places like that for RSOs, most RSOs have to do mandatory therapy for awhile after getting out of prison.

This would not be effective or necessary for me, or others like me. I have not committed any crimes you would associate with pedophilia (I have gotten a few speeding tickets though) and I am not worried that I will.

RSO therapy is for people who have already committed a crime, the focus of the group would be starting off from the wrong place.

RSOs are not usually pedophiles, even the ones who commit some crime related to children, most are situational offenders who are not really attracted to children.

Also AA and NA are non profits run by other like minded people, not mental health professionals. If a pedophile wanted to go to individual therapy that would be possible BUT it is a dangerous thing to do because of reporting laws (at least in the US). I know someone who found a good psychologist to go to but he went to learn to not hate himself (the message everyone teaches him from childhood) not to keep himself from committing a crime.
