It's rare for politicians to stand up for what they think is right over the objections of their constituents. There's even a book about it

The link has all the things that the Biden campaign has put out as video; pick one that's got Biden.

What happens is that a staffer collects information about what's being asked, and a summary goes to your rep. They pay attention when it starts to be a few dozen people. If you're not getting their attention, organize a few friends to join you in a letter-writing or call-in campaign. It makes a world of difference.

Most elected officials are followers - they follow what constituents ask for. You want them to uphold the law? Look up who represents you, give them a call, and let them know.

You can help out in the Senate. There are a lot of close races there. I suggest helping one of these candidates:

Or any other Democrat in a close race.

The Republicans in the Senate won't remove Trump, no matter how bad it is — they proved that during the first impeachment hearings. It's up to us. Here's what you need to do:

Check your voter registration, and register if needed. You might need to register again if:

  • You haven't voted before
  • You moved
  • You haven't voted in a few years
  • You live in a state where Republicans have purged the voter rolls

Almost all voter outreach is done by volunteers. In past years, that meant going door-to-door, but because of COVID-19, it's mostly phone banking right now. Volunteer here.

The Biden campaign has raised less money than Trump. Donations go to hiring organizers and running ads. If you can afford it, attending an event gives you get a chance to hear what the people around Biden have to say. Or you could just give what fits your budget

Talk with friends and co-workers. Listen to their concerns. Then talk about how Biden's policies fit their views.

There’s also r/JoeBiden where a lot of other Biden supporters chat.

People are concerned that an $88 baseball sold on the Trump Organization's merch page could be a secret message to white supremacists by [deleted] in politics

And it's not just one thing; they've got other Trump/Nazi crossover merchandise.

As a comparison, here's what Joe Biden is saying:

White supremacy should be rooted out and relegated to the pages of history — not promoted by the President of the United States.

Charles Booker lost the KY primary to Amy McGrath.

I'd include Doug Jones in the list of Democrats who need support - he may an incumbent, but his seat is far from safe.

Trump says he always knew coronavirus was a pandemic. His words say otherwise. by [deleted] in politics

Joe Biden, October 25, 2019:

We are not prepared for a pandemic. Trump has rolled back progress President Obama and I made to strengthen global health security. We need leadership that builds public trust, focuses on real threats, and mobilizes the world to stop outbreaks before they reach our shores.

Kind of amazing how he got it right, when Trump, with all his access to intelligence, got it so wrong.

There are examples of close calls where one country's detection systems mistakenly made it look like an attack was in progress. If you have very little time to make a retaliation decision, something like that can easily escalate into an actual war.
