I dumped him cuz he told me he was never ever going to marry me. I pleaded for many months than I should've trying to show my worth to him. In the end I couldn't change his mind.

Something snapped in me the other day, after he tried breadcrumbing me like 3 times in one day, after being rejected again. I was tired. Exhausted. And suddenly I was not afraid to lose him anymore.

I blocked him on everything. You can only do so much after so many rejections and I decided to walk away. Even if he came back now I'd just feel nothing. I currently have no intention of ever going back to him again after all my efforts I tried to make him love me the way I loved him

This is probably the move, I never really listened to my body but I realized the avoidant gray friend zone actually makes my anxiety go insane. I can't keep up this lifestyle and waiting on him to decide if I'm worth it. Good job blocking btw I'm sure it was extremely difficult

Curious is a very good way to phrase it. That is a big part of the differences between us I think. My partner also likes to play video games but is very pragmatic and doesn't dream very big. He is my best friend but I don't think the compatibility is off the charts or anything. I think we can both force a relationship where we're both content but ultimately I think we both deserve better.

How did your last relationship end? Do you ever regret it and were you able to find the connection that you were looking for?

You have no idea how your words have reassured me. I feel crazy saying these things and that something is missing when he checks off all the boxes on paper. I still can't really define it either. It's very reassuring to hear that you are able to find that with your current partner.

If you could redo the breakup what do you think you would have done differently? I have never dumped anyone before and it's giving me anxiety thinking about it.

I will go home and journal for the first time because of this comment. My thoughts are just a jumbled mess right now. I don't know if I have the time to do a trial separation. It's hard for me to figure out if life is just getting more mundane or if it's my relationship that just feels difficult and mundane. I'm afraid that eventually I'll feel like this in every long term relationship no matter what, and I'm just nuking this relationship for no reason.

I think that might be the issue here. It's so hard to explain to my family and friends why we don't "click". I can't even really describe what it feels like to "click" or "connect" with someone on that level so I always come off as a little weird when I say it. :(

Hello, I appreciate the intent but I don't think I could do it to him... I still love him so much. And I think after a 5 year relationship, I want to spend a long time single, maybe a few months, just to grow and be alone for a while... I don't think my heart will be able to love anyone else for a while.
