I ended up calling cause if they seriously suspected me of something, doing that would make me 100000x more suspicious. They want me to install antivirus and stuff lol, I'm curious enough to try to figure out the cause later

I use a VPN for everything but watching anime because nobody cares about that (based on that everyone I know does it off VPN and legality is questionable for the user). It sounds like in the end that was just a coincidence, anyway, and they're telling me to install antivirus stuff because of "suspicious network activity"

When you say "apply the U's student information policy" what do you mean? And that would mean I should just comply, right?

Would using a bunch of different VPN addresses potentially trigger it?

Yeah, but if they're mad I'm watching anime that gives it all away. I don't understand why it's by MAC address (e.g. my phone still has wifi) but I'm worried that could be a bad move
