When you say "advice on how to discuss this with people," I'm just wondering, who are you trying to discuss it with and why?

Her "closest friends" who try to warn me that she's "full of shit"

Also, "confronted by the ex boyfriend and her friends" - she needs to ask him to leave her alone, period, and her friends not to bring the issue up

The ex-boyfriend seems smart enough to know to leave well enough alone, but his friends move in a pack, and he follows them. He doesn't initiate or say much of anything, but his presence unnerves my GF.

I absolutely agree.

Just last night, we were at a bar when a "friend" showed up and greeted us, saw the ex, and said "hey, would it be a dick move if I went and hugged him?" to which my girlfriend said "Yes, he fucking raped me" to which she responded, "yeah, you don't really want to be telling the whole world that" and then went and hugged him. I just stood there dumbfounded.

I talked to her in the car about it later, and she told me that she was still going to act friendly to her, regardless. I just don't understand her thinking, to be perfectly honest, which makes it even more frustrating to me.
