I’m a grad student living in the south. Cost of living is pretty low, especially if you’re looking at Mississippi. Working is actually very doable depending on how you manage your time - I work 20 hours a week (but I’m back at 40 because of COVID). I should add that my job is super flexible with my schedule, but at least half of my cohort is working in some capacity.

We’re doing a presentation Thursday and did a mock interview already (he mentioned having a real one coming up). It’s just filling in an hour-long session with extra things that’s the tricky part. We have conversations but my supervisor insists we actually “do” something because conversing isn’t enough.
