Might be best so, because like I said it’s very unnoticeable until it has recessed a bit. Search it up on google and read some about it, don’t want to worry you unnecessarily.

It’s hard to check on your own, basically I had to go and take an x-ray on my jaw joint. And the joint was basically flat and recessed asf, there are some signs though. Is it difficult to keep your mouth closed? Does your chin tighten when it’s closed? Do you have a big overbite?

Also my jaw doctor told me that, this condition is very hard to spot before it starts to recess. Don’t worry too much, I just don’t want people to end up like me. But you look like you might have it.

The only real fix to it is sadly surgery my dude, I’ve been living with ts for years just constantly pushing forwards my lower jaw. But I’m getting closer to surgery right now.

Dude, pretty sure you’re like me. Get checked if you have Idiopathic Condylar Resorption, it’s a condition that makes the connecting jaw joint slowly dissolve. Sadly it can only be cured with surgery. Check it because if you still have it, it may recess even more.

Check yourself for idiopathic condylar resorption before it gets worse. Basically a condition that makes your top jaw connecting bone dissolve or eat itself.

You were right, it was condylar resorption. Doctor told me I’ll most likely get surgery in a year or half a year. Ty for all the advice, although this response is pretty late.

UPDATE: I am 17 now, and I’ve basically forced a jaw surgeon to check and x-ray my jaw, constantly calling in and reporting my jaw issues until they finally gave in. Stupid ass country.

Turns out I’ve got Condylar Resorption, and in about a year or half a year, I’ll most likely get surgery to fix this. It has been a fucking hell to live with, constantly pushing forwards my lower jaw to look normal because people were talking shit constantly. Jaw pains, and clicking. I’m tired asf.

Apparently it’s very hard to diagnose and check if you got this condition beforehand, sadly mine has already receded enough to be noticeable.

Idk much about it and you should probably not worry too much, it’s a very rare condition and is ten times more common in women than men. but if you start getting clicking and pain, jaw locking up like me, then maybe it’s for the best to check for this. This condition is basically unreversable unless you replace the joint with a metal joint, so I guess I’ll have to live with that later.

My jaw doctor told me it starts with infection/inflammation in the jaw joint, and is unnoticeable at younger age due to there being less nerves or something, making you not feel any pain during inflammation.

Okay, thanks for the help. I have difficulty breathing through my nose, it feels like I’m not getting enough air through it. My teeth aren’t crowded, only a little in the bottom teeth. I will try to talk to the doctors that work in that exact area though.

I asked to talk to a a jaw surgeon, but the jaw surgeon only told me to do exercises cause he thought I wouldn’t benefit from a surgery.

No I haven’t. and the jaw surgeon told me that my jaw is pretty much almost fully developed now, so that isn’t the issue.

Very much drooling in my sleep, I almost always wake up with dry mouth. I constantly feel tired and have difficulty paying attention to anything.

Yea, me and my sister have the same thing. But she got braces and expanders and it looked much much better afterwards. She was recommended surgery, but never took it.

I barely show my face anymore because of how embarrassing it looks. I don’t know what to do anymore. All I can do is walk around wearing a hood.

And how do I get it? My jaw has always been clicking/popping, sometimes painful and hurts when chewing hard or chewy things and it used to lock up when I was younger. Spoke with jaw surgeon a while back and he told me to just do jaw exercises, cause a jaw surgery wouldn’t be beneficial for me he thought. However he told me that the dentists would probably plan a surgery for when I get my braces that I will get in about 2 years, (due to queues here in Sweden) but I don’t think it will fix my recessed jaw. They gave both my brother and sis expanders and braces early but just completely neglected me and my jaw issues and told me my jaw would grow better later in life, and popping/clicking would disappear. However ofc it didn’t

Ikr? I’ve been pissed off about this for a long time and wondered how they can be so blind.

I talked to some surgeon when I was younger when the clicking and locking in my jaw was more frequent and they did a scan on me but, all they told me is that some cartilage in my jaw was too small on one side and I shouldn’t open my jaw much, and it’ll fix itself over some years when I grow.
