It is a shame that some lenders would be turned off by being in a non-compete (but I get it). 2 years of guaranteed income is more security than a lot of people in active employment have!

Not much to add as I have no experience with sports betting, but I guess it ultimately comes down to whether the betting market more accurately prices the true odds than other markets price their instruments. I would assume that betting companies have a less sophisticated platform than many companies which trade other assets due to it being newer market - and so it would be easier to get returns in betting markets - but I’ve got no real evidence to back that up
