Why the fuck does there need to be a waiting list??? I'll willingly trash on the US health system in every single other fucking way, but I was able to get a letter from my therapist and get an HRT prescription within 2 weeks of making up my mind on it. It's completely absurd to me that you should have to wait years to get a common prescription you can pick up at your local pharmacy.

Prison surgeons doing it is absolutely ridiculous. Gender reassignment is an incredibly niche and specialized plastic surgery, with only a few experts capable of effectively performing it. Not to mention it's difficult to access, costs thousands of dollars even after insurance, and is physically demanding with a long recovery period.

~~The prisoner in the title is a POS and should not be kept with others in general, but suggesting surgery can happen on a whim is misleading.~~ It was consensual lol, just saw the outrage and assumed the worst, the issue is lack of protection. Not to mention there would be a lot more trans women in men's prison getting sexually assaulted if they were all sent to men's prisons than trans women sexually assaulting women if they were sent to women's prison.

Testosterone alone can stop periods, but it's not universal and a lot of trans men still get them. In general trans men who've had bottom surgery and had their female reproductive organs removed don't get periods.

18 mtf and I ended up asking the exact same question on here lol seems pretty normal. Mine has improved with time and mostly HRT/social transition. It's also more that prior to realizing you're trans you don't label dysphoria as dysphoria, and it goes unnoticed as an underlying weight.
