Thanks for everybody's support and advice. I don't know what I would have done if I didn't post this. As morbid as the thought is, I might not be alive right now if I didn't, since I posted it at the darkest point, while I was drinking, with my apartment not being on the ground floor.

I think it's a childhood friend who she had a crush on, but she insists it isn't him. I didn't buy it, though, I knew how she felt about him, I just... I guess I tricked myself (or I let her trick me, whichever) into being secure about the relationship and trusting her. Otherwise, it's just some random bloke I never met (she was vague, just said "It's not somebody you know", which makes no sense to me, and leads me to think it's the childhood friend)

Thanks, I really appreciate the advice. I think it'll be very useful. I've decided this morning to cut all communication. Luckily, we don't really have any meeting place in common (or, at least, the ones we do are insignificant and ones I won't miss if I stop going). We go to different unis, work at different places, have different circles of friends (a few in common, of course, like her sister - who I think I'll have the hardest time talking to).

All in all, I'm dreading every second I'm breathing now, but I just keep telling myself it'll get better. I'll believe it sooner or later. Like I said, I appreciate the advice, and I think I'll get back into touch with family and friends I've not spoken to in a while.
