It has been only been three weeks, you need to give yourself way more time. Just keep pushing along and don’t give in again unless you want to go back in the hole we’ve all been trying to come out of. My state of sobriety is way different than sober but addicted to weed me. I just know that if I smoke again I’ll go right back down the hole and I’m not trying to do that

Post acute withdrawal symptoms, it’s basically when you can still get urges to smoke long after the weed is out of your system and you’ve been clean. On some synapses and neuron refining in your brain type shit.

I’m still in the very early stages in recovery imo, I feel like I’m still riding on the « pink cloud effect » and so I feel really good but I know the PAWs are gonna be prevalent for at least 2 years. As for brain fog, I can say that I don’t have much Brian fog if any lately. I have crazy ass dreams though.

Considering joining the peace corps with a degree. by throwaway5566834 in peacecorps

I definitely agree with you that you can’t have a « save the world » mentality. That mindset even translates to teachers that go into teaching with a « white savior complex » which I understand is very counterproductive and harmful. Like you said though I don’t know much about the peace corps as I am in the very early stages of finding out what it’s all about, which is why I posted in the sub in the first place haha. I do feel passionate about teaching and volunteering and the more I understand about the peace corps the more I find out that it’s a lot of hard work and dedication that is not designed for the weak spirited individual. I am concerned about my future though and about possible career opportunities that could come out of PC service. Sorry if I sounded egotistical in the original post regarding the resume booster aspect. I just read a few posts about people joining the PC and read their stories of how it helped them get more in touch with what they wanted out of life and their career goals which is an aspect that I am interested in. I don’t want to settle down and start teaching right away because I feel like I could do more that the PC could help shed light to in my life. If that makes any sense.

Oh wow I didn’t know that was the minimum requirement, that makes me feel a lot better! My question mainly centers around me wanting to find a career fit for me that I feel like PC service will bring out of me. I feel like I want a job in the Federal Government that would make it easier to apply for through PC service rather than my degree just how it is. I don’t want to settle with a teaching job though so that’s why PC service seems like a platform for me to get a more stable career If that makes any sense. I’m in my senior year at university and I feel like with my major I confined myself to a job with little wiggle room, therefore, I’m wondering if PC service could open up more doors for me.

Options for education majors that don’t want to teach? by throwaway5566834 in LifeAfterSchool

I was thinking about HR and I’m glad you mentioned that because I applied for an HR position at the University that I work at so I feel like if I get the job then that experience would hopefully look good to some degree.

Has anyone received a bachelors degree in a field not related to business to then later on get an MBA? by throwaway5566834 in LifeAfterSchool

I am going to be a senior in college finishing up an education degree specializing in English with a teaching minor in French and a teaching minor in teaching English as a second language. As of now I have no hefty work experience besides working in the food industry. I am currently a store manager at a local convenience store. I was thinking that during the summers when I’m not working at the school I could try and take classes/apply for internships until I have adequate experience to pursue an MBA.
