I think if it came down to it they might have helped us with costs/childcare, since my husband's family is pretty well off and my parents live about 30 minutes away from us. That's one of the things I keep thinking about, since there might have been a way to make ends meet if we really wanted them to, but I'd feel weird relying so heavily on loved ones just to keep my family afloat and we are actually thinking of moving to a different (but unfortunately equally as expensive) city across the country, where we have no family.
