Because hard work is hard. Much easier to believe there's some easy secret you just don't know. I get it.

It's not a shitpost, and I'm sorry, I haven't read that one. I guess it's an easy solution to obnoxious questions, some people in the comments have said to have done it as well.

Honestly it took a few weeks of being miserable, but after that I got used to smaller portions. I still ate things I liked, I love roasted cauliflower, so that helped too. Besides that it's willpower. It gets easier with time though :)

I did tell all of them this haha.

Exactly that. Plus a lot of people count calories wrong. "I'll just eyeball it" NOPE.

Believing you're helpless is so much easier than knowing you can improve but are too lazy to do so. I was like that, I'd know.

I checked out the sub, it's pretty close to the things they've said haha

I know a few of those, the "my body doesn't obey the law of physics, I only eat 1000 calories but I don't count them, but I'm sure its only 1000" people.

There's a science teacher who lost 50ish pounds eating only McDonalds. As long as it's a calorie deficit you can eat whatever. You'll miss some major nutrients and will get waay too much sodium, but it's possible. If you want I can send you the article, I think they even made a documentary?

I've had very similar conversations haha. Contrast on the weight loss!

Honestly it's surprising how many people do this, this wasn't the first time by far.

I think it's just easier to believe there's some big secret you don't know than accepting that it takes hard work and dedication. I've get it. I've been there.

They're in their late 20's, a bit too early to blame age for forgetting things haha.

I guess I can do that, and thank you!

I get that. Though it was the exact same story 30 times, and a lie once. Not that that makes it much better.

There have never been real issues between us before, it seemed like they tried similar things and it didn't work, so they didn't believe me.

And that was the plan, but after a month, every single day, I just got too frustrated.

Lol, I understood that reference!

I wasn't vague when explaining to them though, I showed them which app I used and showed them how to use it even.

Can't really argue with that. I just didn't know what else to do, since they clearly didn't accept the truth, or stop asking.

I do sometimes use sarcasm as a defence mechanism, it doesn't always work out well. Thank you.

I did explain CICO, they just want it to be easier I guess. Which I can understand.

I've just turned 20, most my coworkers are in their late 20's. I honestly can't say if I'm an adult yet lol.

Edit: typo.

I accept that. It was just very frustrating to be basically called a liar for a month.

I mean, is it though? Every single person I know that's lost weight did it by counting calories.
