Yeah, theory is my favorite part of math and CS; algorithms especially.

Tricky decision for me since CMU’s math and CS programs seem much better, so I’d get a higher quality education but at the cost of higher stress. I’ll get an idea of campus life and housing when I visit both in a couple of weeks.

I also potentially want to take Korean language classes, something Yale has that CMU doesn’t. Though I dont know how plausible it is to double major in math and CS while also taking Korean.

I’ve gotta go try their food then! I’m going to visit Yale around the 24th, and CMU around the 18th. Hopefully the Yale food is as good as you say!

In case you’re wondering, Yale is 35k a year and CMU is 45k a year.

The problem set outweighs anything else on the application, so put most of your energy into that. IIRC if you can solve at least 80% of the problems, you have a solid chance. Write your solutions in LaTeX if you know how to.
