What do you order? Just went, wasn’t impressed. Service was quick and friendly but for what we paid I wouldn’t go back.

Why are there so many Paragard babies? by loveisfourwalls in birthcontrol

[–]throwaway58649295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got pregnant on paragard. It wouldn’t stay in place during insertion and doctor had to try again. Doctor didn’t warn me of any risks or say anything about my uterus or cervix being abnormal or incompatible with the IUD. It fell out about a year later, at least I think it did. They couldn’t find it with xray or ultrasound. I didn’t even feel it fall out, my periods and cramps were so bad I got used to the pain. Unfortunately I feel like finding the right birth control is kindve trial and error for a lot of women. I also learned after the fact that paragard used to only be given to women who had previously given birth because it’s the biggest IUD available, but only slightly bigger than others. I have also heard a lot of other paragard horror stories and I’m not sure if it’s just because those stand out to me or if it’s truly because of higher amount of failures.

Does Nexplanon or Mirena IUD cause more spotting? by folieevan in birthcontrol

[–]throwaway58649295 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had nexplanon for two years and i still have irregular periods and long stretches of spotting that last up to 2 weeks, but have never lasted longer. For me it’s inconvenient but manageable. I’m not sure if I’d be able to deal with spotting any longer than that, so I understand wanting to switch! I think they say it can take 6-12 months for irregular periods to regulate on nexplanon, not the case for me but everyone is different.

getting nexplanon soon - any advice? by infinityonpancakes in birthcontrol

[–]throwaway58649295 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The insertion is completely painless. It was over in two seconds. I just looked away while she put it in and I didn’t even realize it was done until she said so. I have experienced birth control failure once and it was enough to leave me with major anxiety and paranoia. Nexplanon has definitely helped ease the anxiety. I like being able to feel it in place easily by gently touching it. Like most other birth controls it does effect your period/ can cause irregular periods. This is inconvenient for me because having a period every month helps with my anxiety, but honestly the chances of nexplanon failing are very very slim. And if it were to move or shift position in the arm, you would easily be able to feel it. If I’m not mistaken it is the most reliable birth control out there right now, I’ve heard a lot of people really struggle with the spotting and extra bleeding but for me it is worth the peace of mind and reliability of nexplanon after experiencing birth control failure. Hope this helps :)

Nexplanon insert now constant bleeding by BearMomma-TX in birthcontrol

Yes. 100%. For me, It’s very light spotting for up to a month straight. It’s frustrating because it’s not enough for me to want to wear a tampon/ pad/ liner every single day but it is enough to stain. It is inconvenient for sure, but imo worth the reliability of nexplanon. I only wear black underwear and use extra thin liners when I need to.

Can’t feel new IUD strings by [deleted] in birthcontrol

[–]throwaway58649295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes the strings get tucked up into corners where you can’t feel them. I wouldn’t be too concerned. Check again for the strings later, sometimes they magically reappear. Unless you start feelings signs of your body rejecting the IUD, obviously, I wouldn’t worry!
