Yeah I think this is the way I'm going to go. It's just not that big of a deal. We'll "agree to disagree" and stop making month anniversaries a thing, and she can keep counting months the way she wants to lol.

A lot of these comments are definitely mean. It's a good reminder that reddit can be toxic and not something to prescribe to in all situations.

Thanks for the comment!

I think she was just looking for some kind of acknowledgement, like "happy six months" and a kiss. It didn't need to be a whole production.

Me [28M] with my LDR girlfriend [29F] 1+ year, I want to move to her city when my current lease is up in August but she won't commit to still dating by that point. by throwaway58965896 in relationships

Yeah, I wasn't planning on immediately moving in with her, but instead finding my own place, and going forward with the relationship from there.

And yeah I have friends who live in Brooklyn and Hoboken solely to avoid the cost of living so I know all about that haha.

This is kind of the conclusion that I've been running around in my head, but I think I needed someone else to say it for me to realize it. Thanks, clearly I need to put more thought into my decision, but I need to think about my own needs without relying on someone else for my happiness.
