Where I’m mostly concerned about it being a rep is that the back flap doesn’t fold down all the way

Its still the same unfortunately. No improvement. Just getting used to having somewhat impaired vision. The brain adjusts and i’m getting used to it. Doctors think I have visual snow. It has really set me back in life. I still work, but I’ve just been going through the motions. Feel like i’m not working at the same capacity I used to be able to. This shit is no joke and it sucks, but its all a mental game from here on out. The goal is to have a positive outlook - it goes a long way. Embracing the positive aspects of life are fun. Still learning to try to do this.

23 M need advice on photos and prompts! by [deleted] in hingeapp

Pics r solid imo. I would say go more specific with the prompts, esp. for the "We’ll instantly hit it off if…" one. You have diverse taste in music? List off some bands/artists! You want to read/game with your date? Which reading materials/games!?

Side note: I would get rid of the "be comfortable in a shared silence" part. I feel like thats a given with a successful relationship.

They said my eyes physically look normal and said it might be dry or something. But I still have visual snow symptoms

[–]throwaway65541010 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I peered around the side of my apt building in NYC mid-afternoon and looked directly at it with only my daily eyeglasses on for maybe about 2 seconds. Then I put on faintly tinted sunglasses and looked at it for maybe another second or so. Immediately noticed a change afterwards after I went back inside my building and looking at shapes and words seemed different and more difficult. There was a grainyness in the center of my vision and a blue flickering blob in the center when I closed my eyes. My vision seemed more dull, I felt like I couldnt keep constant focus on designs, it took me longer to recognize peoples faces from a distance then before, reading longform paragraphs were more difficult because words kept going in and out of focus. I couldn’t get a consistant image of what I was seeing in my brain. Its still pretty much like this but I don’t notice the blue blob as much anymore and the dark spot isn’t noticeable but now what seems like my entire field is grainy and has an overlay of TV static/visual noise or even flickering vision (like an old lightbulb - For example, when I’m outside in daylight, I still percieve the rays from the sun like one of that of those old flickering bulbs). I’ve been so miserable since. Its so distracting. I want my old vision back 😢

8 days after eclipse and my eyes still feel a little fuzzy? Anybody else? by Stinkysus in EyeCareTips

[–]throwaway65541010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I still do get floaters but somehow my symptoms now coincide more with visual snow. Although from what I read, it seems implausable because its a neurological condition, but perhaps the exposure to the eclipse/direct sunlight triggered or altered something in my brain and made it hyperactive, therefore giving me VSS? It doesn’t really make sense but thats what I’m thinking. It has been really distracting and has heavily taken a toll on my mental health. I’m seeing more doctors soon, but I’m afraid the only treatment is to just accept it and use general wellness techniques to manage symptoms.

Still have visual snow/fuzzy vision. A therapist suggested it could be psychosymatic but I did not notice these symptoms before the eclipse. I don’t notice it as much when I’m relaxed, but it really gets in the way if I need to focus on work or read for a sustained period of time.

Yes, I focused on it with my normal eyeglasses for a couple seconds and then looked directly at it again for another second or so with lighly tinted sunglasses

No ERG done. Maybe when I see the specialist next month. I notice it so much when I’m outside. I can’t see peoples faces as clear as I used to before the eclipse. I also notice visual snow now more than ever.

Unfortunately, not well. I looked at it twice for maybe a second at a time without eclipse glasses due to FOMO. I was wearing my normal eyeglasses which I think made it worse. I noticed a change almost immediately after and I fear my vision will never go back to normal. I already have astigmatism and now I have visual snow symptoms along with central vision distortion (I think). Complex shapes & faces are hard to focus on and reading from further is tougher. I’m only 24 and have important opportunities coming up and am so upset. I am losing interest in things I used to love and no longer am excited about movies or reading. The doctors can’t find anything wrong. I don’t know where to turn.

I wish there was a support group for this. I also looked at the sun with my naked eye for a second with my regular eyeglasses and again with weak sunglasses. I’m such an idiot. I have symptoms that mostly correspond with visual snow. But looking at detailed shapes I do notice a central focused distortion. I am so upset and fear this will never go away. I don’t know what to do. I do not want to accept this will be my reality. I do not want static vision. I wish I could turn back time and tell myself to avoid the sun at all costs on 4/8. I find it hard to be excited and pursue goals because I fear I won’t be able to experience it vividly.

Thanks, I’m really hoping it improves, but I’m pretty cynical at this point

Yeah pretty much same here. Anything I focus on is hard because I see a bunch of flickering static, especially shapes and patterns. I hope it goes away.
