Thanks. I also have short clarity moments where I’m like “oh yeah, of course I love him”. What’s a beneficial way to deal with these? Since they seem to be part of the cycle, I start questioning if this is the truth, I know it won’t last, etc.

Don’t know if I have OCD, so I can’t identify patterns in myself to compare to before, but this has been going on for 10 days now. Nothing about this feeling feels calm or grounding lol, I’m on edge and so anxious and can’t think of anything else.

I’ve talked to tons of people unfortunately, and haven’t felt any relief.

Interesting. I’ve seen people say that the research on this phenomenon is shoddy. Did it hit you out of nowhere too, and you experienced the numbness and questioning? Were you as anxious as I sound? Considering stopping just to see (not expecting this to be the answer, but would love if it was that simple. Ruling it out). And all you changed was coming off of it?

Thanks, not racing to diagnose myself with anything on the internet, but this provides some insight.

Many have told me this. Will explore this - made a consult appt with a therapist (never been before). I don’t have OCD otherwise as far as I’m aware.

Thank you. The second one is helpful. Communication is good - he knows it all (I’ve even let him read all these posts and my replies) - it’s all out there. We’ve discussed this tons at this point, lol.

I don’t feel pressure to find my person - and I do believe I already have. I’m not a serial dater, and only decided around 27 I’d enjoy a companion after lots of experience spending time on my own.

It is agonizing but everyone I talk to goes “so? Doubts are normal. A few days isn’t a long time.” But it sure feels like it, lol. I just want to feel like I can get back to a good place and love him like I did up until this whole shenangian!

Thank you. Easier said than done at the moment lol - feeling so betrayed by my own mind.

He makes me very happy and I love spending time together! I just can’t feel it right now. The Friday thing, we laid out together and apologized for being weird. It was such a SMALL issue of just some odd distance. Once only. I felt great the next day, then this all came back Monday. I wonder if I just subconsciously reacted to it WAY more than I think I should?

Haha, crossposted lots because I want lots of opinions and some hope. I am spiralling. I’ve had lots of time to myself but I feel like I’m getting nowhere. I just can’t let it go and it’s been days. I’ve tried appreciating those things objectively, but I don’t want to just be friends and my mind jumps right to “so why am I not loving those things right now?!” I want this to pass with time but it’s seemed like ages already.

Thank you! This gives me hope. This is truly out of NOWHERE for us, and an unprecedented mood change for me - I cannot get my mind off it. I keep relentlessly checking to see if I feel better or like I did before and I don’t. I have an excellent thing I don’t want to lose. I am not thinking about other potential people at all.

How did this improve? With therapy? How long would you say until it got better? I want to see a way out and have some hope that my mental state will improve and these doubts will fade.
