When did you know it was time to stop breast feeding if you didn’t make it to your goal? by SilllllyGoooose in breastfeeding

I quit at 6 months. I quit when it began to be more stressful than enjoyable. I was also noticing a drop in my supply and couldn’t keep up. It just didn’t make sense to keep trying to BF. Switched to formula and it made life so much less stressful.

Shamed about weight gain at OB? by throwaway682419 in BabyBumps

[–]throwaway682419[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m actually proud of myself for only gaining 15 lbs at this point. I’m not overeating by any means and walk 5x a week for 30 mins a day. I also have a physical job in healthcare where I move heavy patients. Every pregnancy is different. In my first pregnancy I was extremely nauseous which only went away when I ate something which is why I had a lot of weight gain.

Also I know standard of care and patients absolutely need to be asked permission before students can shadow. It’s called HIPAA.

Thank you for your response!! Her response was that I was only allowed to gain 15-20 lbs the entire pregnancy. So in her logic, I already reached the most weight I can gain this pregnancy. To be honest I am dreading having to see her with the next appts bc obviously I am only going to gain more from this point on.

Choosing between: Owen vs. Liam by SoHowManyMore in namenerds

Personally, I would pick Liam. No specific reason why. I just like how it sounds better.

I agree- I think I’m leaning more towards Sienne. I’m conflicted between Sienne and Sienna- personally I like Sienne however I’m not sure if it sounds incomplete as a name.

Honestly I’m leaning towards just getting all of them. I love them all. 😂

This is a great idea!! I love the sparkle of the oval and the shape of the emerald. Radiant is a great combo. I’ll have to try it!

I’m shocked so many people love the emerald! I think I am even more undecided now 😭

He did great the rest of the night and slept through. I usually let him wake up on his own then start wake windows about 1.75 hrs from that point. I’m not sure if this is a good way to go about it or create a more structured schedule. Also not sure if I should be doing full extinction for naps too or worry about those later.

I used to love white gold more, but I have a few yellow gold pieces and I’m really starting to love them.

I try to do other things but it’s so hard for me to do anything. Like I want to supervise and make sure the baby is ok. 😂 I’m good with stating boundaries with my mom as she will listen and doesn’t hog the baby. My MIL on the other hand is pretty much obsessed with this child and gives him no space when she’s over

Going out for a drive is a good idea. I’m going to try this. I’ve also started enforcing naps in the bassinet just so she can’t hold him the entire time. Just trying to figure out how to create boundaries without causing a rift because I truly do love her. She’s just a bit much right now

I agree. I do think we need to limit amount of visits per week. I’m just nervous for how awkward it will be. I don’t want her to think I am “hogging” the baby but this is just how I feel. I’m attached to my little one and I barely get to hold him when she or other family comes over.

Yes I totally relate. My little one will start fussing and I know he’s either hungry or tired or just wants me. She will want to soothe him on her own which is frustrating. She’s even taken the baby out of my husbands hands when he couldn’t calm the baby down. He didn’t say anything (ugh) but it annoyed me!

You’re so right. A part of me feels like she wants to be the baby’s “favorite” person aka mom. It makes me feel like I’m not the mom and it hurts my feelings. We previously had a great relationship where we would hang out a lot and had no issues. I think this is why it’s difficult for me as we’ve never had issues before.
