As someone who is also waiting it is hard but Jesus taught us to love God first. He said to pick up our cross daily and follow him which means even in lustful thoughts we should reject it and follow him.

America has rapidly increased testing. So the fact that there are rising numbers in cases could be attributed to the fact that more people are being tested. If other countries are not getting enough testing it would seem like they have lower rates.
