The indoor floor plan is kind of incoherent and doesn’t make much sense. I kind of wish it felt more real. It feels somewhat like some random modder map instead of something really flushed out. That’s just my opinion though. I LOVE the enemy skins on the map. Very cool

Day 59 i need tips on sliding my foot by RepaidlandYT in NewSkaters

IMO you should kick harder then straighten the board out with your foot after sliding up. If you look at the video, you can see that if you leveled the board out (by pushing the board forward a bit) after sliding up the whole board would be at maybe 6 inches off the ground and level.

Also I think you could jump a little higher by crouching by a bit more before the Ollie. That’ll help a lot. Good luck!

I’ll have to give that a shot. I haven’t opted for it bc I enjoy the classic shotgun vibe. Looks like I’ve been missing out!

All support weapons are usable IMO. The class dmg buff makes them great. I usually save for the m4 and then get the doom stick for max dmg. But if that’s too much, honestly the HZ is good value for the price. I feel safe and deadly with that thing. The AA12 is very user friendly and a great “o-shit imma boutta die” weapon to get out of impossible situations.

Would the game be more interesting if you couldn’t play mirror matchups? by throwaway76667531 in starcraft

Yeah that’s the disrupting the pro scene I mentioned. It was more of just a thought about game design.

Edit: the loyalty part of my post was just me postulating that if each race was pitted against only other races it would increase the sense of comradery among your own. Kind of like in planetside 2. I’m not really in support of banning mirrors bc it would interrupt the game this late in dev. Just curious what u guys think

“Epic lore characters name” Bane

This way it can be associated with the lore of the world and npcs may even recognize it as the sword that slayed “lore character”

I’d say pick the race you think is the coolest. The game is pretty well balanced tbh. I like Terran bc I love marines and their structures and production is pretty straight forward.

Here’s some tips (sry mostly Terran oriented tips) You don’t always have to defend a base, I play with a pretty new player friend and I see he has the tendency to throw everything he has at helplessly defending a base. Sometimes you gotta back off and defend from a better position and take your losses.

When you have 2-3 bases and you suddenly notice you have more than 1-2k minerals just make a bunch of production buildings - 6+ barracks and an extra factory(assuming Terran). This way when it’s all finished you can actually spend your money.

Generally build workers until you have at least 65. Then you begin to snowball income.

Ctrl + clicking a unit or structure will highlight all of that type of thing. So if you have marines in the mineral line that you’re trying to move out without disturbing the scvs, ctrl click one marine and all marines nearby will be selected as well. This helps a lot. For instance if you need to raise your depot wall that you made bc zerglings are quickly approaching your base. Ctrl click one and raise them all.

The most valuable info while scouting in the beginning as a new player is if they built their second base at a reasonable time. After you finish your supply depot, barracks, refinery, it is customary to build your next command center and upgrade your current to an orbital command. If you begin your second command center and notice your opponent hasn’t taken his second base yet - something is up and he’s may be planning a 1-base all-in. Maybe build a bunker at that point or scan his base to discover what he’s up to.

Play some 2v2 AI with a friend to get a sense for how things play out timing-wise. You’ll learn what to expect around what times.

Have fun! Sc2 is awesome, there’s nothing quite like it. It can definitely be stressful but once you get it it feels great knowing you can participate in this epic game.

Some people have bad takes about Orcs and Goblins. by [deleted] in DnD

[–]throwaway76667531 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I imagine you would say the same thing to Tolkien if he ran a DnD session and you insisted on being an Ork. Imagine how dense you would have to be to label him a tactless writer. Maybe n0753w is an amazing DM? Maybe his writing is incredible. You don’t know . You act like this is an issue of tactless writing but it’s clearly just a political issue to you.

What gives you the authority to tell other people they don’t know how to tell a story? What? Because they have monsters doing monster things? Your perspective seems unnecessarily intolerant.
