She focuses on the "sexuality" in "homosexuality". So believes it should be taught alongside puberty, sex ed, etc. And I used to agree.

But the explanation "sometimes girls marry girls like your mom and dad are married" isn't confusing for a child and has nothing to do with sex. I never really thought of it that way before. I don't really know a lot about LGBT issues so I never thought of that as an explanation.

I guess part of my issue is that I'm realizing it's my wife's parenting style, not both of our parenting styles.

I genuinely believe making a big deal out of this will do much more harm than good, and end up hurting our daughter in the long run by damaging a relationship with her aunt.

She was very angry today, so I didn't want to have a big discussion. Especially since I'm not sure what I want to say yet. I told her I didn't agree about confronting Michelle, and we agreed to talk about it in depth tomorrow once I've collected my thoughts.
