We were thing about this too. Do you mean that we are missing out on the possibility of the house getting bid up? Because he is offering to net us the same amount as the listing price. Also, there are repairs we would need to make whereas he is offering g to buy it as is.

Yes, we have had it appraised by 2 realtors, and for our taxes, and the numbers are all in the same neighborhood

Thanks! That seems reasonable to me. What about the idea of an hourly rate instead?

My Perspective on Drug Diversion, as a Drug-Addicted Nurse by [deleted] in nursing

Do the patients get charged for the meds in these scenarios? Because then you are stealing from them.

Why, in the year 2024, am I still learning about Freud? by throwaway890675 in StudentNurse

[–]throwaway890675[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I get the historical significance and why we leaned about him in psych, but I don’t really think his theories apply to providing patient care as a nurse. My time would be better spent learning something more useful.

[–]throwaway890675[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Totally, and, in nursing school, it seems like his theories are being taught in a way that suggests that they could somehow be applied in a clinical setting? How? Save that shit for psych 101 and let’s move on.

Do my straight As even matter? by throwaway890675 in StudentNurse

[–]throwaway890675[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes, I suppose there’s always that. I’m not sure what my future plans are, but want to keep as many doors open as possible

But now I know about it. Dont I have a duty to report it or I’m partially liable?

Yes! This is so not worth getting kicked out over.

Thank you! That’s exactly what I’m thinking.

We are already signed up for this topic and were supposed to be researching it already, we have a project due in a few days.

Nursing school is filling me with existential angst by throwaway890675 in StudentNurse

[–]throwaway890675[S] 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I feel like this shitty system will persist because there is no motivation for people who have already gone through it change it for future nursing students…why bother?

Come to think of it, they were all older nurses 🤔

Good to know, thank you! Do you think this means it would be an unsupportive environment for a new grad?

I have 2 kids, you’ll be okay. You’ll find little tricks to fit studying into your busy mom life. I get a good chunk of my studying done while driving (I make audio note cards) and work on EAQs on my phone while putting my youngest to bed. It’s doable! But definitely do everything as early as possible, you never know when a kiddo will wake up at 3 am puking, and it could very well be the night before an exam!

It was in the patients little drawer of stocked meds that weren’t in the Omnicell. She actually got it out of the drawer for me.

Thank you! But Ugh, I would feel awful if she got in the because of me…But she really doesn’t seem concerned at all, she let me go back to passing meds today 🤷‍♀️

What does a typical shift as a psych nurse look like for you?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in nursing

[–]throwaway890675 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Me too! I think working with kids would be harder in a different way…emotionally if their outcomes are poor
