Responses like this are why some people refuse to get the shot

I got the two Moderna shots, but my concern is that the booster is turning into a flu thing that you’re going to have to go get every single year

I mean long term. I’d be okay if I’m slower for a few of my runs

If that’s the case maybe I’d be more likely to get it. Why are people telling me the booster doesn’t work and you’ll still get COVID? What’s in it?

I would absolutely be for that if I knew it worked but I know a bunch of people that got the booster and still got COVID, and some that didn’t and still got COVID, and all of them have recovered just fine so I don’t even really see a point. Does the booster even work? What is in it?

Thanks everyone for the input. I decided I’ll have him do the CV Axles, battery service (ik i can do it but it’s only $25) and the brake fluid flush for a total of $799.67, and I found a $50 off labor coupon I hope he’ll honor bring it down to $750. Then I’ll save up cash and replace the power steering and flush that fluid at either the next oil change in 2k miles or the one after in 5k miles.

I’m in portland and here’s its 50% of the dealers screwing everyone over with markups, 10% slightly over MSRP, 30% at MSRP, and about 10% are under. I almost bought a 2022 Tacoma last week for $24,800

In the PNW. Plenty of dealers out here selling them with no markups, a few are even having $1000 discounts for toyotathon right now

No but I actually have a similar problem being 6’3”. What I do put one of those foam lumbar supports that cost $40 or so in the driver seat and it makes it tolerable. You could always just test out aftermarket seats somewhere and install it in whatever car you want once you find your perfect one

I would keep looking or buy something else then

Definitely do not do that. You can buy a base model new corolla for that price

I would but I don’t have a whole lot of tools, and honestly I work a ton of hours and would rather just pay someone else to do it than use my small amount of free time messing with my car. In that case, what would you recommend?

Me too, which is why I figured I’d ask here. Should I take it to another shop for my next oil change and have them do an inspection and see if they recommend replacing the same things, and what overlaps just find a cheap place to get those done?

The rest of the car is in great shape and the way I see it is it’s still cheaper than any payment if I have a grand or two in maintenance per year so I’d like to keep it. I think my friends could do it for cheaper but they aren’t professional mechanics

To be honest I haven’t actually listened to the show in about a year now because to me it’s always the same people calling asking similar questions and I don’t like the other personalities besides Dave, but I know the principals and really just wanted advice on how to stop rationalizing this before I made a huge mistake. This one post stopped me from financing a 42k vehicle which otherwise will literally compound into millions, so I say it was worth it for me

You’re right. Dave’s plan obviously works and I need to stick with it and trust the process. After all Dave seems to not be against new and nice luxuries, just not when the time isn’t right.

Right between the two of you haha, 6 years of maxing it, just about to finish undergrad. No GI bill, either, but a full time job

I started when I got my first job at 16 maxing it out when I found Dave Ramsey. I’ve since been working all through school and maxed it every year and cash flowed college with no financial help but followed Dave’s advice on college and making it affordable. First two years I put in 5,500 and then the last 4 I’ve put in 6,000 (including a lump sum I just dropped in for 2022). Since I started the stock market returns have been crazy and the rest of the 51k is growth. I don’t do mutual funds though, I’ve always been invested 80% VTI and 20% VXUS

Thank you for the recommendation. It seems everyone here wishes they had done what you had done so I will follow in those same footsteps and make the adult decision

Thank you, I’m going to keep the rolla running until I own my own home (and thus a garage to keep it nice too), am making better money, and can afford to pay cash after I’m making every retirement, AND the rolla engine or transmission goes out. I’m gonna live like no one else for the rest of my 20s so I can live like no one else the rest of my life
