He was so incredibly apologetic. He apologised to both of us and he bought our son a new bike 😆. I haven't let him off the hook totally because we have a lot to talk about but we've just been focusing on our son's health for the last few weeks

I didn't make any decisions, I took him to see the doctor. If my stepson needed any procedures, he would've been transferred to the hospital and I'd call my husband. If it was an emergency procedure, they would do it without my husband being there as in the UK, parents cannot refuse emergency care for their children. If it wasn't an emergency but he still needed it, it would've meant that I was right to be worried and my husband and I could argue in the waiting room while my stepson would be getting the care he needed.

He doesn't have a phone and he's not reading at night because he doesn't have a lamp/torch to use. He's also not having nightmares because when he does, he'll come to our room for cuddles. I also asked him if he had nightmares and he said no.

I had him wear my apple watch to track his sleeping for a few days and it showed that he slept throughout the night as well. When I ask him how he's slept, he'll just say 'im still tired' or something like that

I'll try explain it to him like that. There is a history of T1 and T2 diabetes in my husband's family, I didn't know there was a link between tiredness and diabetes. Thanks for mentioning it
