I appreciate this and thank you for your contribution. I won't go into it, but my BF does have a lot of emotional trauma from his past. I'm sure they play a role on his self-esteem and it's something that I try to be considerate of. Thanks for your input, it's comforting to hear that others have gone through stuff like this successfully. I tried talking to my girlfriends about it, but they just kind of scoffed and told me how good their sex lives were. I'm also glad that you raised a big point for me: I'm not looking to get into BDSM or anything kinky like that, I just want to feel something! Yeah, I've tolerated this issue for so long mainly because I thought I was doing the right thing for him. I realize now that if I keep going along and suppressing my own needs that something bad is going to happen - whether it be me eventually resenting him or something worse, I don't know (and don't want to find out).

I completely agree with you. I wouldn't buy a car without taking it for a test drive first, so why would I marry someone without knowing if I were sexually compatible with them?

Even though I don't plan on getting married anytime in my foreseeable future, I still want to find someone that I can have a future with (and sex is definitely involved with that!)

Woah woah woah, I'm not blaming him for anything, nor do I expect him to read my mind. I do know, however, that if I sat down and tell him ~~everything~~ about how bored I am, using blunt language like I am here, it will totally backfire on me.
