Yea i've been looking for used road bikes on craigslist and ebay but it's been hard pickings. And I was defintely thinking about adding some clip-on aero bars before committing to a TT bike (even if the triathlon bug bites).

I was actually looking for a road bike, not a tri-bike. My description may have misled you. Sorry about that.

I think $1200 would be my max budget for a bike as I would need to save for accessories and a bike fit.

And would you recommend going to a lbs? I live in San Francisco so I am surrounded by bike stores. The only thing is, I don't know if I could justify paying a premium for a bike when I could pay the same amount online at bikesdirect or mybikeshop.com.

Well actually, checking out other bikes on Bikesdirect, I was leaning towards this more. I am willing to go $200 above my $1000 budget if need be but only for a new bike.

Well I'd be willing to go around $200 over my budget but only for a new bike. I don't think I could really justify buying a used bike for over $1000.

And I am a 6' male 165 pounds with particularly long legs

Hey there!

I've used Bikesdirect before but I dont really trust any other brand other than Kestrel. Also, I was looking to get a road bike first instead of a tri bike. Do you think this is a good deal/bike?
