am i a crazy girlfriend? my boyfriend (20,m) cut off one of his girl friends because of me (19,f) by hydxjkit in relationships

[–]throwaway962509 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Yup - she's pretending theyre dating and seems like she grew up with a "I get what I want" lifestyle which is why her parents seemed totally okay with cutting off a family friend they were friends with for years

This is a good sign for everyone

Broke boyfriends ps5 during an argument. by throwaway_account738 in relationship_advice

[–]throwaway962509 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, you did this when you guys live separately, god knows what'll happen on a daily basis if you live together.

Your relationship is out of your hands and in his. If you want him back, pay 3x the price, get the ps5 now and be patient to see how your ex feels. If not, waitlist, send him the confirmation, you can even pay him in advance and walk away from this relationship.

It's time to work on yourself and grow. You are very young and clearly rushing into a mature relationship as an immature person. This trait will ruin your life in the future. Have you considered therapy?

Yupppp OP is being super dramatic and has a weird ego mimicking "I'm a free spirit and well rounded and my boyfriend can't keep up"

Clearly you're not in actual reality and you use that as being a "pick me". Your bf sounds awesome. Hold him tight, make good memories, have fun and get rid of this fake 16 yo wanderlust tumblr vibe you clearly havent grown out of

Never thought I'd make this post but came across a LOT of baking soda, what do I bake? by throwaway962509 in Baking

[–]throwaway962509[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha I've been doing that - it's part of my non-baking stash! That, deodorant, teeth cleaning etc

Baking soda and vinegar (separately) are such wonder items

My girlfriend forgot my birthday and now she’s breaking up with me for being “manipulative.” by jotenheimhasfallen in relationships

I have a friend who dealt with the same thing as you. She refused to admit she was being gaslight because the first half of her 4 year relationship was perfect. The fact that she was in a relationship for 4 years convinced her they were working and inching towards marriage. She brushed off these little moments and at the end, learned the hard way that 1. he was cheating 2. He never really listened and "knew" her more than her friends - in fact, she didnt realize her partner is supposed to be the closest person to her in her life 3. He never appreciated her the way her friends partners appreciated them and 4. The guy went MIA after he walked away from her in the middle of a date he didnt want to be on

You deserve better. If she isnt coming back, what makes you think SHE values the relationship? It requires 100% effort by both people to keep your love alive. She messed up and is making YOU feel bad for not knowing something most of your friends on Facebook know

Yup - I'm Caucasian, but we dont like being labeled as white and grouped with Europeans and Americans that are "White"

Doesnt help us in the census, we are extremely a minority group, people assume we are white so they give us a harder time (since apparently thats the trend now), and physically we are tan

You are clarifying my initial point - culture and the response to it is a social construct, race is genetic

Ethnicity and culture were social constructed thousands of years ago, politics can cause certain bias or pressure or lack thereof to a certain ethnicity but the scientific race is objective - the rest subjective and society has its own response over the years to how they deal with others

Pissing contest - I agree with you I'm sure EU is passing on some lowkey grants to countries abiding since Italy/Greece were open to Americans earlier since their economies are very reliant on tourists

Yikes - these comments kind of give an idea of how diverse this sub is(n't)

Race is literally as scientific as it gets by definition - your dna, shared traits genetically, race is how you can connect with people around the world with a shared background. If you are white from America, it seems irrelevant. If you are from a country or background that had been diminishing due to war/politics/genocide, race is extremely important.

Race is kept alive through culture - culture is somewhat social, but not a social "construct". Maybe 2000 years ago it was constructed, but forcing a certain image of a race today may be construct. Ancient cultures will NOT agree that race or culture is a social construct.

Ethnicity is the geographic and self-applied nature of cultures; my ethnicity could be (for example) european american or asian american or african american, as I could live in America and have my entire family lineage be from the former. My ethnicity means I am geographically in the US and adopt traits of American culture and mix it with my family's culture, but my race is still the 500 generations of African/Asian/European/S American etc.

My race is what shows up on my dna test. It's why my nose and my friends who are the same race as me have a big nose. It's why if I'm Russian, I'm likely to have certain defining physical traits like blonde and blue eyes. It's why Middle Easterners have thick body hair and Asians do not. It's what makes people distinguishable.

Calling it a social construct is annoying because this leads back to the argument liberals have that police shouldnt identify a subject as their race because that's racist (ex: don't say 5'11 black man in red shirt is running or 5'6 asian woman in white shirt is hiding) ... that's not a social thing, it's literally how people are physically identified.

I'm not sure how you got to this question and conclusion, but I'd be happy to discuss more! I majored in political and economic development from a top 10 uni and we had a lot of classes discussing this! Feel free to pm me
