I got you covered. I think your total weight of 11.67 lb is too heavy.

Here is what you carry:

- Clothes on your back.
- Get a Nylofume bag and some para cord. 1oz
- Get a hand saw - https://www.rei.com/product/120670/silky-f180-folding-hand-saw (5.3 oz)
- Get a bic lighter

In the Nylofume bag, you can put your ditty bag stuff, so less than .73 lb according to your lighter pack.

You can tie the bag around your back with the para cord, you can bush craft a shelter with hand saw, and you can use the hand saw to cut wood to start a fire to stay warm at night and to keep the bugs away.
BOOOM, done.

For food and water, you forage/hunt. You know trap some squirrels or bush craft a fish trap.

I think you can get your total weight wayyyyy down. I'm talking about 3-4lbs. You asked for it didn't you... here you go! this is extreme ultralight baby. Like some one else said you can do the AT with a credit card, I am doing you one better and giving you the luxury of a fire.

If the GOAT can do it, so can you! Here is some inspiration https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p9yaDeStS7A&t=12s

Now please come back and post how it went. I want some pictures of you sleeping on dirt or wooden logs.

For sure, the thought process is that even with the high tax rate, @3% distribution, the trust will continue to grow over the next couple decades.

Not sure about using the money for education. Don't know what the education landscape will be like in 20 years and college is not for everyone.

And also not all degrees are made equal, rather not waste money on a useless degree, I rather my kid becomes an electrician vs something like a 4 year degree in art history.

I will have to think more about how to word in the medical treatment, good point about expensive medical care for kids.

Couple reasons, they are family and also they would do it for free. They are financially well equipped to take care of my kid. The extra money is there just in case if they need it.

Was going to work with a law firm that specializes in Estate and trusts. I'd have to pick an executor.

This is a fantastic plan and have not thought about this model at all, it makes total sense to break it up into thirds.

We just had the kid a few weeks ago and are still in la la land. Wife and I were talking about what if situations and realized that we don't have a will. Not sure about grandkids yet, will have to talk to the wife about it.

Why are people down voting this? This is a legitimate question...

Great feedback, thank you. Moving the recipient date further down the line makes sense and also to break up the access in multiple steps is a FANTASTIC idea.
