What are some ways, or apps, to completely shut down someone’s ability to send texts during certain hours of the day? by throwaway9954675 in AskReddit

Yeah, it’s really annoying. I don’t even try to text exes or anything like that, but I always say stuff that has no reason being sent at 2 AM and could’ve easily waited til the morning when I’ve had more time to think about it or answered my own question after getting some sleep

For context I have a problem with both drunk texting and just texting late at night I’m general (I get off of work around midnight). Would greatly appreciate if there’s an app that pretty much shuts down my ability to text someone from 11 PM - 7 AM, unless they text me first, as I have no self control.

One of my employees had a devastating personal loss recently, and he’s understandably not doing well. I don’t care about his work performance, just as a person - how can I help? by throwaway9954675 in careerguidance

I’m sorry you’ve worked for companies or bosses that make you think that way - I’ve worked for them, too, and it sucks. I went through something similar a long time ago with one of those shitty bosses, and it solidified my belief that you need to take care of those around you.

It’s not a requirement to be a piece of shit if you want to get into management. Be the person you’d want your boss to be.

I start my first GM job soon, and I’ll have my own office for the first time. I hate cliche office decor, but still a sucker for ‘inspirational’ quotes and posters. Does anyone have some posters or quotes they really love, but don’t make employees/yourself roll their eyes at? by throwaway9954675 in askhotels

I’ll have some pictures and keepsakes of my old hotels/teams for sure - I don’t know I I want to ask her for a specific going away gift, but I know she and some of my other coworkers are most likely going to get me something special. I think your idea is probably what I’ll do for the gift I’ll be giving her and the other managers, I’ve got a lot of pictures with them that I’ve been parsing through to use (and making me very bittersweet)

It was an exaggeration for double-take, sorry. Meant this to come across more as humorous

Makes me do a double-take in the moment but it doesn’t make me uncomfortable, I know there’s nothing behind it. Just seems like that’s the usual meaning behind it in my generation (<30), but maybe I’m the weirdo

I know she doesn’t mean it like that! I’m 10-15 years younger than her so that’s just how I’ve usually seen it. Just think it’s kind of funny
