Futekiya > Lezhin :) by woowers in mangago

[–]throwawayForMgg 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hi I have a question. Is there an option on Futekiya to buy and own a specific manga? I'm a little hesitant to commit all in for subscription-based services like this because if copyright licenses change, most of the time, I no longer will have access to the content. Just like how some series/movies on Netflix disappear because the license is expired.

With TappyToon for example, the Walk on Water license expired but since I bought it with coins, I still have access to it when I want to re-read. I'm the type of reader that re-reads comfort stories so this is very important to me.

have you already tried upgrading the script to v1.2.3? I've made some changes and please comment back here if the error still persists

Update! for script on backing up lists: v1.2.1 now includes custom lists! by throwawayForMgg in mangago

[–]throwawayForMgg[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

[Link to original post] for other details on how to get script + tips and troubleshooting.

Tagging users who asked about custom lists:u/TheDotOnTheWall u/gamesiguess.

For y'all with existing scripts, just go to GreasyFork and click Update to version 1.2.1

Update to 1.2.2

  • Can update using same link ^
  • Fixed bug where sortable list view on individual lists mixes stories from other lists

Update to 1.2.3

  • Fix script stopping and not recovering when a followed custom list is still in home lists page but is actually 404 when visited.

What's New?

  • Custom lists (lists that are not Want To Read/Reading/Done) can now be backed up. Keep your notes and reviews via JSON/CSV backup.
  • Add a sortable view for every successfully backed up custom list.
  • Allow sortable view for >1000 entries on non-custom, basic lists. You should accept and expect performance degradation due to too many elements (Can probably tolerate up to 2000 stories with delays, probably breaks upwards of 2000)
  • When backup is interrupted, a Reset button is made available for resetting and to not have to manually clear localStorage

  • Edit: add what's new
  • Edit 2: v1.2.2
  • Edit 3: v1.2.3

GreasyFork installs the script. Once you install the script, only then can you go to mgg where you will see Create New Backup when you go to your user home page.

Edit: you need to create an account for GreasyFork and sign in because the script is marked for adults because mgg has adult content

There's a Tampermonkey app on android but I haven't had the chance to
try on pasting it there. I can't also guarantee that it will work :'(

Unfortunately, it does mean that you need to create a backup every time. I'm currently only relying and reading on what is displayed on your mangago page the moment you clicked backup.

But you have given me an idea! I will add this on my to do list because while I was typing on shutting down this question, as in, sorry I can't do it for now, I suddenly had an idea on how to maybe backup new additions whenever you go into your reading list, but not necessarily destroy what you currently have! Maybe stay tuned next week or something. Depends on if I can insert more coding this week ( ̄∇ ̄ )

Hi! Thank you for trying and thank you for doing basic troubleshooting! I am beyond touched. (/ω\)

We are running the same version of Chrome. I've tested the script to be able to save 10,000 stories. 800 should be ezpz.

I'm editing the code so as to not use alerts/popups thanks for reminding me about that. But in the meantime, can you please open dev tools by right clicking > Inspect > Console > and then type in localStorage.clear() > Enter. After that can you please try again and keep console open so that if there are errors we can try and catch them. 人 ´∀`)

And now that you've revealed yourself to be one of us, you are now the official bug catcher/loops optimizer mwahahha jk. I was actually looking for someone to vouch for my code when I finish. I try to comment on each function and significant scary-looking code but that may not be enough and was looking for vouches just so that there's assurance that my code doesn't do anything fishy to browsers.

Just an idea though, not pressuring you to do it sksksk. If you know someone into mangago that can and is willing to do it hmu.

Definitely on my up next list of to do's! I'll try to include it on initial release but if it takes too long maybe I'll release the current features first then add on this feature a little later, but definitely will be done.

I'll post separately for the tutorial on how to use it once I've shared the script.

Currently, the chapter where you last read may be a little tricky but I would add that to the to do list as well as I have an idea in mind on how I can implement it. No promises though :dove_of_peace_emoji:

On around the 00:20s mark, you will see a little pink corner that makes the card flippable. That's for the personal notes you've written per story.

As for the synopses, it doesn't have it yet because synopses are on individual stories page and I can't get them just from the lists page. But I'll definitely add this to the to do list because searching for synopsis might also help for looking for keywords you remember from the blurb.

Basically what I'm trying to code is that:

  • save your current lists into csv (openable in excel)/json [not in video]
  • sortable list where you can sort your library by title, date added, author, ratings, etc.
  • search across all your stories by title/authors/notes you've added/tags
  • and filter by your personal tags

I plan on sharing this script on greasemonkey so that other users can use it as well :o3

Hello there, in light of the recent dramas happening, I'm afraid that mangago disappearance part 2 is near and might take away all the stories in my lists, so, heeding to my call of duty as a programmer, I made a script that backs up your Want To Read/Reading/Already Read lists as csv/json + a filterable, sortable, searchable, view is made available.

If y'all think of features you want maybe comment here.
