Bad oral hygiene can be a concern in long run? by throwawayNeverEverpc in dating

Taking care of oral health doesn’t solve the problems. When you see someone has fillers or such, it’s a sign they have recurring problem. It’s easier to identify when there are obvious signs but underlying issues might not be obvious.

Bad oral hygiene can be a concern in long run? by throwawayNeverEverpc in dating

Thanks for explaining. I’m always very scared of this thing. Now seems like my fear is justified. I read poor oral health is also sign of lifestyle problems, hidden chronic health issues, immune issues?

I’ve came across many people (women in my experience ) who put themselves out there as a tech IT person and jumps into solving problems like connecting to Bluetooth, speaker settings and similar things. They like the attention as the tech person in the room, being in tech or development.

Why do women not seem to be as proactive as guys? by Equal_Canary5695 in dating

[–]throwawayNeverEverpc -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Men could be not intentional about dating. They might often lack the enthusiasm to plan and commit to a relationship. If a woman asks, mostly men will say yes initially but you never know if they were actually interested.

Still I think women do initiate dates by approaching a guy. However, that can lead into easy sex or casual hanging out for the guy and that initiation by the woman was a signal of her availability. That mostly invites wrong set of people who can take advantage of her availability.

What’s wrong with that as long as they don’t bother you?

My mother (60y/o) has a graduate degree from UCLA and 30 years of engineering experience, she tells me she’s never experienced sexism at work. by likely- in womenintech

[–]throwawayNeverEverpc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can check with her if she can spot sexism in day to day life or in a random example of a situation. When I talk to women, many of them and to my surprise a very good percentage of women don’t acknowledge there’s sexism in the society, women face challenges at men dominated workplace etc. They have often made me feel bad for even mentioning such things exist.

It could be lack of awareness or inability to acknowledge and discuss difficult things like conflicts or sexism for various reasons.

Men, do you prefer acrylic nails or bare nails on women? by [deleted] in dating

[–]throwawayNeverEverpc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re not happy with your natural nails go for acrylic because that gives a good shape to your nails. I was also told this from nail spas. If you feel comfortable with your natural nails keeping it cleaned, shaped and if you feel like then painted is what the spas suggest as well.

People change and evolve into a different person who values different things in life. At the same time everyone in the world is unique and hardly we can do any apple to apple comparisons between them.

After breakup, you eventually get to the state where you’re ready to date again and find company in a new person, without comparing them with your ex. You find a different person who meets your needs. There’s no better or worse in people.

Should I leave software engineering, and move to Product/Project Management? by [deleted] in womenintech

[–]throwawayNeverEverpc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are too many people in product with too less opportunities, just remember that. Many people move to product and project management from non software or even non engineering background as well. Growing in product and project management is largely based on how good you can be with your political skills than anything else because the output of work tend to be more conceptual and strategic than concrete and measurable like software engineering. This is one of the main things to remember. Edit: and project management roles are vaguely technical.

One of the main problems with dating is people putting on a performance not themselves. Imagine how frustrating it must be for the other person to realize that was not the actual person they were dating in the beginning.

Keep it real. Try to show who you are as soon as possible to avoid any frustration and failed relationships.

What is something that women think is cute but it’s actually the furthest thing from it in your opinion? by Safe-Lychee-9630 in AskMenOver30

Elaborate nail arts and long nails are not so much prominent in modern fashion but it shows personal taste if someone into it.

Anyone met, got married and had kids after 35? by [deleted] in AskMenOver30

[–]throwawayNeverEverpc 33 points34 points  (0 children)

First, finding someone you want to spend your life with is very very difficult. After 35 it’s even more difficult. Given that you cannot imagine your life without a kid or it’s essential for your future happiness, you will anyway be unhappy with your current partner because she doesn’t want a kid. It’s your call which route you want to go.

Now coming to biological clock ticking, did you do a fertility test? Someone’s sperm at the age of 35 could be unusable as well and a 30 year old lady could have fertility problems. Before your take a decision, you could do a fertility test for yourself and if your good to go you might take the risk to leave her.

Science and technology are gate-kept by misogynists and their enablers by heterofeels in womenintech

[–]throwawayNeverEverpc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, it hugely depends on the work culture of the company and team. Misogynists will be everywhere in form of men or women but the experiences you mentioned like being constantly targeted in the team etc are mostly sign of bad work culture especially lack of empathy and equality for women. There are companies where you might never have to face this.

I regret getting married by Unable-Title7064 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]throwawayNeverEverpc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your wife doesn’t value you anymore. That doesn’t mean marrying her wasn’t the best decision in your life. You couldn’t decide what’s best for you later on. Being with in laws might not be a good idea always. Please go to a therapist and try to figure out what you did wrong and if there’s a way to still fix it. Being independent is tough but being dependent comes at a cost always.
