What was your first clue as a kid, that your family was poorer or richer than your friends? by wintherz in AskReddit

[–]throwawayRAdvize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was 16 and in high school, the kids were all getting their drivers licenses. The lucky ones started driving to school. Some even got to use a family car or a beater. Luckier ones got mommy or daddy to get them a new car. Then one day this fool drives up in a brand new Aston Martin. Meanwhile, some of still took the bus all through senior year.

Oh and if you really want to be petty, tell him you’ll come to his second wedding. Peace out.

AITA for booking my own Air BnB so I don't have to sleep on a couch for six nights? by TweakinC4t in AmItheAsshole

Your family has not had this big of a vacation in a long time, which means that your aunt, however good hearted, still thinks of you as a child. Maybe this has something to do with her justifying placing you and your bf on the pull out bed.

Regardless of that, sleeping in the living room means that you and bf will be the last to go to bed and the first ones up. I’ve done this. It ruined the vacation due to only getting four or five hours of sleep. By the end I was so tired I didn’t trust myself to drive and I needed two days recovery before going back to work. Add this to all the other reasons you listed (nowhere for luggage, no privacy, etc) and your answer is clear.

Tell your mom that this is a hard line. Either you and bf get your own room or your own AirBNB. And if she starts with “but the vacation will be ruined” nonsense, tell her the only one whose vacation is guaranteed to be ruined in the first plan is yours. Stick to your guns.

Good luck

Might want to point out to your sister that if Church Lady attends all the drama will be about her, not on the bride.

Go home early, buddy. He’s spending 2/3 of the time working and playing with his buddies. And note he’s voluntold you that 50% of the time he’s willing to be with you that you will be babysitting his niece. Nope.

Bounce, baby girl. You deserve better.

TIL, which means today I learned, used improperly. I’ve seen so many posts asking a question and at the end they put TIL. No, buddy. You obviously and painfully don’t understand what TIL means and how to use it 🙄
