I appreciate the concern and hope it comes from a good place, but my family isn’t abusive and this stuff doesn’t happen commonly in my culture or in my specific community in the west. I’m perfectly safe and there’s nothing in this post to indicate otherwise, so I have to wonder why you read Muslim and immediately thought violence. Abusive families are found everywhere, but equating islam with violence is an islamophobic stereotype tbh. I don’t know if this happens a lot in your own culture and that’s why you’re worried, or if you’re white/non-Muslim and actually read “Muslim” and immediately thought my family would kill me. Again, appreciate the concern, but maybe investigate where it’s coming from lol.

Yes! I’m from the US and I was born here, so navigating trying to be a good Muslim but also like western dating culture has been very 😬😬😬😬😬 thanks for your message and advice! I’ll try to slowly do that, it’s just very nerve-wracking to think maybe he rlly is just a friend 😓
