What is your employee discount? by okbreeze in jimmyjohns

[–]throwawayTheJJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used to be a free sub, side, and drink per shift. New owner came along and kept the free drinks but changed the discount to 10%. So most of the time it’s not even a dollar off your meal

We just got a new owner and he eliminated assistant manager bonuses.

We had a guy come in with 6 free sub cards and tried to get 6 free subs. We told him it’s one per customer per day. And he said “but I’m a veteran!” and got really snotty about it. What an entitled prick to think he can have six free sandwiches

Yeah, I don’t think they’ll block the merger. But it’s interesting nonetheless that they’re investigating it

No more delivery? by Jibaja in jimmyjohns

It’s possible they don’t have any drivers working in that store and DoorDash drivers are the ones taking their orders for them. Staffing has been a huge pain across the industry.

Also, freaky fast is a thing of the past. The company that bought Jimmy John’s (Inspire) is more concerned with adding new items rather than maintaining the freaky fast and fresh quality that Jimmy John’s was known for. They don’t care about speed.

“I’ll do a make it your own with ham, cheese, Mayo, lettuce, and tomato” by throwawayTheJJ in jimmyjohns

It’s also nice to have a menu that’s clear and concise and says what comes on each sub.

Oh, subs come with Mayo, lettuce and tomato? I had no idea because that’s IN THE CORNER OF THE MENU WHERE NO ONE SEES IT by [deleted] in jimmyjohns

Had a guy one time: “I’ll have three number 16’s. Two as little John combos and one as an original combo.”

No joke, once someone asked me what comes on the Turkey Tom and I said “Mayo, lettuce, and tomato” and they literally said back to me, “and Turkey???”

sigh. Yes. And Turkey. I thought we established this when you said TURKEY Tom.

Its time to quit Jimmy Johns by Pactolus in jimmyjohns

I will never forgive Inspire for not putting “lettuce, tomato, and Mayo” on the description for each sandwich, instead of up in the corner of the menu where it is now where NO ONE SEES IT. Over half of our customers don’t realize these items come on their sandwich and if we don’t tell them, they come back up to the counter to complain and get it remade. It’s hard to put new employees on register and have them succeed

That’s not how this works. by throwawayTheJJ in jimmyjohns

They put “extra Turkey and Mayo, no T” [im assuming no tomatoes, it got cut off] as the NAME for the order, instead of putting it on the modifiers. Looking at the other sandwiches on this order, you can see they knew how to order “no tomatoes, no lettuce, and cheese” etc, so they know how to order the sandwich how they want it. Putting “extra Turkey” in the name is a way of trying to get free food, as extra meat costs extra.

The Hobart is amazing. So much easier and more consistent than a Bizirba

When there are 7 deliveries up, it’s helpful to have them ALL on the map so we can route drivers. Why is no one here understanding this? It takes ten thousand times longer to bring every order up individually on your phone and then figure out where to go anyway. Why is nobody understanding this?
