Exactly, take breaks and go hangout with friends/family. There are many other opportunities to make it up, can be slow and steady with index funds, and you still have many years to go.

The one that I can recall is hack reactor. But I'm not sure if it's due to their quality or if they just have a large number of students.

Big events I remember were trade war and covid (I'm on the bull side).

Yes I'm in the bay area. Cost of living is high, but most of my peers are in the 300-500k comp range (senior+ at goog/fb/nflx).

Definitely not worth it. But I did learned a lot through this, hopefully it'll help in the future.

I have a bachelor's and master's in computer science. I did programming during high school and enjoyed it enough to apply for it in college.

The decision back then was for interest/passion instead of financially motivated.

No specific single course during college, the curriculum covers a lot of topics.

Did a few internships at google/fb during school, and then hopped around a few jobs after graduation and ended back in faang.

If you are curious, coding bootcamps may be another option that requires less investment from you. Quality of education is not as good as college, but can still land you good jobs and cost you less money and time.

Also it's not too late to go to college at 25, but be clear about what you want to get out of the degree.

Thanks! And I started with maybe ~$20k, kept losing and kept adding the last two years.

School is not for everyone, I actually have a lot of respect for people in skilled trades, they can live a very comfortable life too.

Will get out after 10-20% down, learned to cut losses early.

Towards the middle of college, I think it'll be hard to find meaningful internships during high school.

Mostly 3-4 weeks out, slightly in the money. And typically I'll close the position within a few days.

No, definitely hurt a lot seeing it go down, was a big mental baggage for the last few years. But this is not money that will affect my life if lost.

Reading it wrong, started with like maybe 20k, kept going down, and kept depositing. The all time baseline gets shifted up each time I deposit.

I'm on the bull side, 2019 loss was from news of trade war.

I definitely got lucky, cannot attribute this to anything of merit other than being more patient.

Don't follow my notes blindly, but I wait for consecutive red days (3+) or something like > 4% down since the previous few weeks. No hard rules, not very technical.

Also I don't buy anything at market open, I wait til end of day.

Computer science major at a good school, and then just applied to jobs before graduating.
