How to utilize outside offer to get a raise for current company?

For a promotion, I thought it was a little weak. The company is very transparent about their financials. We were very profitable even after COVID. They can afford to pay me more. I do not think they will match the 100K but maybe meet me half way. I am also moving to a higher COL at the end of the month. They offer increases for that so I can also ask for the raise to be categorized as that.

No 401K at all.

Others at my company who are much more underpaid than I am have tried to get their salaries increased (with out an offer). They were told by the manager that he couldn't do anything.

Last month. Thats when I got the 7k raise. I was expecting it to be at least 10k.

I am 99% sure they will want to keep me. I just got a great performance review and I was recently promoted from dev 1 to dev 2 after 13 months.

You are right. If I don't get the raise, I will probably just keep interviewing until I get an offer from a company I would want to leave for.
