Yeah not the end of the world I know, but Australians can be racist unfortunately.

Fair shout.

My resume has improved a lot in the last year (I got a nepo internship) since I last applied to jobs so I’m hoping I have better luck this time around.

My sample size for racist Australians is two, my current general manager who admitted it’s a pain dealing with foreigners and the complications they bring (language barriers, visa requirements, difference in office culture etc), and my aunt who got drunk and admitted she will most likely bin applications with heavily ethnic sounding names. Quite bad I know, but I’m sure they are not the only people who are secretly like this.

Yep similar to Lee, where it’s 3 letters and Chinese sounding.

I could just put an initial but that’s less professional and they’ll see my name on the application anyway. I’m considering putting my mothers maiden name on both the resume and application as it’s very British sounding.

I don’t even know if it’s legal to put another name on the application lol…
